General
Account & Registration
Yes. There are two options:
List Recent Tokens
This will give you a list of the 3 latest purchases made for the meter specified. This is a list obtained directly from Eskom and may contain transactions processed with other vendors, i.e. not on DigiMali channel.
How to access:
- Go to "Vend Prepaid Electricity"
- Click "List Recent Tokens"
- Enter your meter number
Customer Transaction History
This will give you a list of the history of transactions processed on the DigiMali channel. It will give you a view of all transactions and the status, regardless of the meter number used for the purchase.
Once logged in:
- Go to "Profile"
- Click "Transaction History"
- Transaction History list will be displayed
Purchasing Electricity
After logging into your DigiMali account:
- Click on "Vend Prepaid Electricity"
- Select "Purchase Prepaid Token"
- Enter your Eskom prepaid meter number
- You can make purchase for your own meter or on behalf of someone else
- Enter your amount (minimum R20)
- Choose your payment method
- Confirm the details and complete the transaction
- The token will be displayed on your screen and received via SMS
Minimum: R20
Maximum: There is no maximum limit for purchases on DigiMali, but large amounts may be subject to Eskom's system rules.
We support the following payment methods:
- Debit/Credit Cards (Visa & Mastercard)
- Scan to Pay (QR Code) – Compatible with SnapScan, Zapper, and more
- EFT Payments
- Instant EFT (via payment gateway)
Free Basic Electricity (FBE)
After logging in:
- Click on "Prepaid Electricity"
- Select "Free Basic Electricity"
- Enter your Eskom prepaid meter number
- If eligible, the FBE token will be displayed on your screen and received via SMS
Meter Services
DigiMali platform provides you the ability to log a query relating to an issue you may be experiencing with your meter or connectivity.
How to access:
- Click on "Prepaid Electricity"
- Select "Report Fault"
- Capture requested details and select Fault type
- Click "Continue"
- The query will be submitted and a reference number provided
DigiMali provides the ability to query specific meter details with Eskom. This will provide confirmation of meter details including Supply Group Code (SGC), Key Revision Number (KRN), Token Technology (Tok Tech), Alg Tech, and Tariff Index (TI).
How to access:
- Click on "Prepaid Electricity"
- Select "Log Query"
- Select "Confirm Meter Details"
- Click "Next"
- Capture required details and click "Confirm"
- Requested details will be provided
Support Issues
Please check the following:
- Verify that you have correctly entered the token into your meter
- Confirm that you used the correct Eskom meter number for your purchase
- Confirm that you entered the token correctly into your meter
- If the problem persists, please contact our support team
Unfortunately, once a token is generated, it cannot be refunded or reversed by Digisquad. You will have to contact Eskom directly for this request.
This may happen in cases of network issues. If this is the case, the following will happen:
- A "Pending Transaction" message will appear on your screen
- Your "incomplete" transaction will appear and you will see a prompt to complete the transaction
- This should issue your token
